Everyone demands so much more out of everything these days, even out of games in the App Store. xCube Labs must have been thinking on those lines when they came up with Word Spy - Free which does not have just one but three exciting word games in one application.
There is 8 Letters, where we have to come up with as many words as we can out of the given eight letters. The mission is to reach the target score within the given time limit in each level. The three tabs given at the bottom of the screen make the game play a breeze. We can either mix up the letters to see them in a different way, submit any word that we can form, or clear it all.
We have to follow the same game plan in the second game called Wordtris, but here instead of static letters, we have them dropping down from boxes at the top of the screen. We have the liberty to move them in left, right or downward directions to form words. Wordtris has a twist in the form of a bonus level which we can play when we are able to form the magic word. In this bonus level, the letters can be shuffled around for 45 seconds, so that gives us a good chance to arrange them according to our will. Again, we need to hit the target score before the time kicks us out of the game.
Wordsolitaire is the third game, and it adds the flavor of Solitaire to a word game. All the cards have a letter written on them, and we have to arrange them to come up with words. The letters with zero have, well, no value, so we can’t use them. This game too is similar to the first two as it has a specific score to be achieved.
It’s interesting to see how three games can be based along the same lines and yet have such diverse game play. The best part is that they all come together in a package, and all for free! Word Spy is definitely not to be missed out on by all word game lovers.
